Adventure for Life usually organisers adventure races for corporate clients, but on December 4 we managed to enter a team in the Anaconda Adventure Race Series in Lorne to see what life was like being a participant.
We finished the 55km swim/trail run/ocean paddle/ and mountain bike epic in 4 hours, 59 minutes, and 44 seconds. The course was brutal, especially the ocean legs with a huge swell and howling winds. Adrian, our paddler was the star of the day with a masterful display in the big surf. His incredible water skills saw the team leap 45 places won his 15km paddle leg. Helen took a couple of tumbles on the trail run, and bled for the team, while Dave again smashed the bike leg.
Don’t worry folks, our races aren’t nearly as tough, unless of course the clients want that type of service.
We plan to enter an Adventure for Life team in the Maryseville to Melbourne 155km race, and we hope to see you at the starting line.
